Endacoping
I’ve reached chapter 2 in Endacopia, and it’s really neat.
I love the visual mix of styles, and the character designs are fun. The writing being a bit drier, with minimal ‘modern writing’ moments, although I will say that perhaps some of the references could have been toned down a bit. It’s fun when you see a little thing that you can connect to something you know (the PJ Sam reference in the first hallway is cute, I like it), but something I’ve learned quickly is that a reference should never be too in your face (the Jerma Fireman in Misery Town comes to mind), or it will take the viewer out of the experience. Overall, it’s not too bad, there’s only a couple blatant cases that don’t detract from Endacopia’s tone, but it’s something I’ve noticed in indie games at large that I wanted to articulate.
Play Endacopia, it’s great!
